Students who pursue the Visual Arts Focus are able to study in the fields of:
- Digital Photography
- This program is designed for students to hone their black and white and color photographic skills. This development will be done by exploring the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design. Students will begin to understand the characteristics and abilities of a DSLR camera. This includes understanding hardware, software and management of digital images and digital files. As students in the AFA move through the different levels of Digital Photography, they will be challenged with projects that will help them become more proficient in the use of the Adobe CC Photoshop 6 software. Projects are also designed to not only enhance student’s technical knowledge but also to allow them to create depth and deeper meaning in their work. This is achieved through extensive research that exposes students to contemporary artist and technical advances in the medium.
