The AFA offers FCPS students in grades 10-12 the opportunity to pursue the arts at a deeper level in preparation for a post-secondary experience; however, as with most arts programs, we operate with a very limited budget. The AFA does not receive any regular funds from FCPS and relies solely on funds designated for TJ High School. TJ High is not allotted any extra funds in its annual budget to house the AFA which consists of students who attend other high schools. To fund our program, we rely on support from community members, parents, family, and local businesses to keep the AFA in existence.
2020 Fundraising Goal

Growth
A new studio space benefits the entire AFA. It prevents conflicts with other electives and allows the AFA to expand its focus offerings to include Musical Theatre which is highly in demand. The studio also serves as a black box theatre for small theatre shows and a recital hall, and even an art gallery.
